Does the convertible top mechanism on a 2003 360 Spider 6 speed has to come out to do a clutch job ??? On some later 360 models it can stay in but I don't remember which years anymore. Thanks !!!

I do not think it does. So put me down as a No vote..

I believe you can stop top in motion to get to the front screws (acccess through the bottom of the lower cover area) to get the square tube support out.

Funny thing is that there are some early 99's that do need the top to be removed.

They lack the access to the 8 front frame bolts.
On the later cars, you can remove the oval rubber piece to access.

The rest of the frame can be loosened by the rear bolts.

Diablo is correct - sort of. The early cars (2000) needed the top removed. My MY2001 does not because of the extra access holes that were added as model improvements.

As far as I understood... the first year of the 360 (1999) did not have a spider version... That started in model year 2000 as far as I knew..

I believe it was 2000 in Europe and 2001 in US.
