Happy new year to all. So the obsession with getting the paint perfect on my 2005 spider continues! When the roof retracts one large piece moves up and then two small pieces on the sides move out. Has anyone removed these small 'side' pieces? I want to get mine repainted due to deep swirl marks that can not be removed. ( I know.....a little OCD!) Just thought it would be easier than having to leave the car at my painter.

The capote flaps can be removed for painting. It really is not that hard to do. One pivot screw and two pivot pins.
