Is anyone watching Bullrun? The third episode just aired this past Tuesday. Excellent show, personally I'm rooting for the Lamborgini Murcielago, but anyway...
What car would you take on that rally? Remember its 4000miles and there is challenges at every other checkpoint, so your car takes some serious abuse.
I would take 1 of these 4 cars (assuming you can get any car you want of course): Bugatti Veyron, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale.
I can't decide which I would take. I factored in reliability, speed, looks, excitement, versatility etc, etc. What does everybody think?

I have been watching the show, somehow I got hooked on. But I think it is the most idiotic show ever made. The challenges are lame, the production quelity is bad, most of the competitors have no personality, etc.
It certainly does not matter what car you drive, it is not as if the +600 BHP on Lambo is helping them at all. It appears that if you have the minimum IQ to read a map, then you have good chances.
If you want to dram that you are driving a nice car in some exiting race, you are better off renting one and going for a drive.
And yes, I'll be watching the show next week.

Too much to go wrong on the Veyron on an endurance race with challenges between stages.

I'd go with the McLaren SLR. Top speed only 50mph+/- slower than the Veyron and far less "stuff" to go boom on those challenges between stages.

Something that handles well, fast, reliable, and BLENDS IN.

Hard enough with the stickers and such, but notice how well the F-150 is doing. Its not just driving, navigation, and a big fuel tank. They would do better to go out on their own and use the truck to blend in and thus, speed more carefully.

I've run rally's plenty. I took the #2 navigator spot for the Jag Clubs of North America a few years back. I friggin' LOVE rallys. The key to pulling in a good time if not top time is consistancy and listen to your NAV.

My personal taste would be to take my XJR. If I was going to specifically buy a vehicle, I would take a new Pontiac GTO, tweak the handling, gut part of the interior to drop a little weight to make more room for in cabin luggage, and leave the rest stock.

Watching the show -- very interesting.

Personal opinion: It would be hard to beat a C5 or C6 Corvette.

My 2002 Corvette convertible six-speed with a 0-60 of 4.66sec and 13.15 quarter mile and gets 33 mpg at 70 mph on flat highway. Its range is over 600 miles at 33 mpg cruising!!! (Obviously, there are few places that are Kansas-like flat, so the average goes down to 31ish mpg on standard highway driving.) The car gives 350hp and a Z51 handling package for the challanges -- not to mention Active Handling Competition Mode to prevent spin outs like the Lamborghini. (And run flat tires -- while they are hard, loud and not grippy like a good set of P-Zeros, you can run on them without losing time to changing a tire.)

The Corvette is a wee-bit loud for long hauls, but more comfy than my 328 GTS. It's also fairly reliable -- the only issue being fearful of the dreaded "column lock" problem, which can be bypassed before a race of this nature.

There are fuel efficient cars and performance cars, but the Corvette is one of the few fuel efficient performance cars.

I'm also going for the Lambo, just because it's an Italian exotic.

If I could pick, I would take the 599 because of its proven reliability in the PanAmerican 20,000.

One of the guys in the Lambo is a FChatter.

The Lambo messed up in the challenge stage. I believe the driver decided to turn off the traction control before the run. Maybe that wasn't a good idea.

Of course it matters what car you drive! Imagine next years line up: Honda Accord, Toyota Camery, Chevy Cressida, Ford Econoline... Who would watch? The Lambo's top speed and the Lotus's handling are not deciding factors granted, but who are we all rootin' for anyway? :)

I also like the Father/Daughter team and the Charger R/T, but the Lambo and Lotus are the coolest, and when the Lambo is gone, it will be hard to watch it because there is no longer a car that is so cool it makes you want to watch the show. I have a bad feeling that is the next episode. In the preview, it finally gave out.

The 4th episode airs in 2hr and 15min. I think the Lambo and the BMW both give out, which will probably cause a lot of bad jokes about "euro trash."
When the Lambo is gone, I'm going to root for the Charger guys and the Father Daughter team. The guys in the Lotus are jerks.

I will be watching the replay of the show tonight which will be aired after the same episode. I just want to watch the "Columbine" on NGC first.

I want to Team Trans-Am to win. They seem to be the nicest one in the group! I don't like the Lambo and Lotus guys.

I don't really care who wins, I'm just watching for the Lambo, Lotus, and M3.

If I was on the show, I would take a Mercedes CLK63 AMG Convertible for the balance in performance and comfort.
