Can anyone help me with this one...

On my 412GT the gearstick and knob rotate as a unit - not just the knob but the stick as well. It doesn't come out or anything drastic like that but it should be fixed in position.

Is this a common issue? Easy to fix?

  2. David,
The manual shift mechanism is designed to rotate in this fashion - and does on my 412 as well!
    Regards.

The 365 GT4s are the same.

Thanks guys that's a relief! I was convinced it was a fault, my 328 GTB of the same year has a fixed stick, so not sure what the benefit of a spinny one was?

When I asked the guys at DK Engineering (where I bought it) they said it was a common fault to the front engined/gearbox V12 cars of that era. It would be very common if it was standard!
