My first Ferrari will be delivered Friday, March 29th. It's a Rosso Corsa, Nero Interior 458 Italia. One options I ordered was Sport Exhaust which, according to my salesman, are black exhaust tips. I did so because I didn't care for the way the standard exhaust discolored over time. He told me that the only difference was the color of the exhaust tips which is fine. It would also be okay with me if there was some other difference in the exhaust sound.
He emailed me a copy of the sticker and it reads, "Sport Exhaust System".

Does anyone know? Will the difference be just the color of the exhaust tips or is there more to it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

with this option, it is the finish (color) on the tips.

Ferrari do offer OEM exhaust systems for track use, at least I've seen them listed in the parts catalog, but aftermarket only.

congrats on the car. BTW the stock tips are easy to keep clean; quick wipe with metal polish after driving and they are good as new.

confusing because porsche uses the same term to designate an upgraded exhaust with a console switch to silence the "sport mode".
the ferrari version is simple exhaust tip paint.
i put this option on my black vehicle, as the painted tips offer a better color match.

bty, what would do you expect for $700?

Colored tips only. No change to exhaust note with that option.

One dealer told me that the valves open at a lower rpm with the sport exhaust as well.

If you like black exhaust tips vs. the chrome, don't order it from Ferrari. Get the stock tips and take it to a good shop where they can get it powder coated for you in matte black. Costs a couple of hundred $$.
