It is going to need a major service, since the last one was done in 1999 @ 20k miles. It depends on what you are looking for as to which one of the two I have are the way to go. The '89 is near perfect, and is priced as such. The '87 needs a service , but is a solid car that can be bought at the right price. I personally would buy the '87 for myself and do the service with a technician I know and trust...that is the best bet in my book...that is what I did when I bought my personal 328. Hope that helps!
