    They must really hate the 308. It seems like every other issue they take a pot shot at the 308's. Now they are stirring the pot to by asking their which car was a better buy at some recent auction.
    Hey Keith, I don't care which car is a better buy. I also don't care if the 308 will never appreciate like the Ferrari's that came before it. All I care about is that the 308 is a car I dreamed about in high school and now I am the happy custodian of one.
    Maybe we should all chip in and buy Keith one so he will leave us alone.
    Oh, on another note Keith, now I know why you got rid of Kirsten Gum. It must be that you just hate all redheads.

    Actually, Keith Martin is a pretty good guy and a former 308 owner. As best as I can tell having met the guy and discussed 308s with him, he has no hate towards them. I know him from the Alfa world. He and his magazine Sports Car Market are active financial supporters of the Alfa owners club and the annual conventions here in the US. He comes from Alfa Romeo roots with his Alfa Market Letter....which evolved into SCM. Makes a great keynote speaker. Very funny guy. Just saying....you'd like him if you met him.

    How is asking which car was a better buy taking a pot shot at a 308?? Just curious???....

    First off, I met Keith in Pebble Beach at the Goodings and Co. auction this past summer and he seemed like a nice guy.
    If you look at some of the past issues of his magazine there have been some articles where they turn their noses down on these cars. At some point you have got to ask, what do they have against the 308?
    I have yet to meet a 308 owner that says, I hate this car, I wish I would have never bought it, it is easily the worst decision I ever made. On the contrary, almost every 308 owner I have met, has said, it is one of greatest cars they have ever owned.
    I myself, like the look of the P1800. But to compare the two is just wrong. One is a true sports car and the other is a sporty looking car.

    I'm sure the article is comparing, for the uninformed, the two cars. And really, if you need a magazine to help you decide which car is for you then the Volvo is probably the right choice.

    I owned a P1800 for ten years. Drove it mostly in college. Loved it

    How else are you going to convince your editor about writing yet another 308 piece? There's a limited number of angles you can cook up on that story and they've all been done already. Hence the vs thing. It gives you a base line.
