I was working at the restaurant this weekend and a dark silver lotus exige with Nevada plates pulls into the parking lot in front of the Behring Auto Museum in Danville, California. First time actually seing one up close, I got to say this thing is agressive looking. Very attractive car, I noticed the honda engine in the back.
Wish I had my digital camera, I would of took some pics of this beauty, I may consider buying a Elise in the near future. I've doing some research seems like a awesome car to have in the stables, especially for me at this point in time with my financial status.

That's a pretty special one--it's supercharged and puts out close to 300bhp. When I drove it, it felt faster than an F40.

It's for sale if you are interested.

I wish I had the money right now. I'm going to be in the market when I get into some money, which unfortunantly do see it being any time soon.
    But ty.

I don't think the Exige was ever a US market car (maybe you mean Elise?), and I know it was never supercharged. Show me some specs and I'll believe you.

I know TVRFreak personally. Not only he have an Exige, he also own a TVR. Both cars somehow are US registered.
He is also the president of the Lotus club-Golden Gate chapter. You can check his website www.tvrfreak.com

your questioning someone with ~2000 post to your 15? I have been in TVR's EXIGE and TVR. Both, non-us cars, both in the rebulik of Kalifornia. He most likely knows all the Exiges in the US.

    btw---Fill out your profile please!

Thanks for the support guys. I think youngtifosi's misunderstanding stems from him thinking that I am referring to the car's factory specs. Though this one was imported privately, the Exige was indeed sold by Lotus in the USA. I believe they sold less than 20 units in total. And I definitely know the difference between an Elise and an Exige since I have owned a couple of each.

This particular Exige (not Elise) has been heavily modified. It's got a Honda motor with an aftermarket supercharger. Work was performed by prototype racing. Check out the video files section to see the difference between a stock Lotus Exige and the one propelled by a supercharged Honda motor.

Here's a few pictures. Frist one was the day it was delivered...the truck had a broken lift and it took a very long time to get it fixed. Second one was taken while on the highway, on the way home, and the third one is of the car parked at my friend's garage. I have had quite a few adventures in that car.

Although I never meant my post as an insult, I stand corrected. I have heard of imported Elise's w/out engines that have swapped in ITR motors, I didn't know that Lotus sold Exiges in the US.

Although I have only 15 posts, I am an avid car enthusiast and a long time lurker of this site. From all the members that I know, it's clear that the responses in here are not representative of the entire membership. In any case I'll make sure to word my posts very carefully in order to not incence unintentionally. No hard feelings.

Now that one is truly spectacular. I actually drove it about a week before EVO magazine tried to break the 200 mph barrier in it. I got it up to 180mph and it had plenty more oomph, but I chickened out as the autobahn stretch I was on had some curves coming up real fast. The autobahn curves are fine at 80-90, but hairy at any speed above 130, and downright scary as you are slowing to 160...
