Hi all, In this thread, I will show you - like in previous years - a lot of pics I took outside the factory gates. This is were the cars drive in and out when they are road tested before delivery. Also cars being serviced and restored in the Classiche department drive through here. I saw quite a few special colour combinations this year - you will note in the pics to come. There will still many 430 Scuderias and 16M Scuderia Spiders around, but during a factory tour I learned that production has stopped. So, these should be the very last examples that have been built! Well, I hope you´ll enjoy my pics, especially those of you that live too far away from Maranello to go there yourself. My pics might give you a little taste of the action Ciao, Lars T. PS: This thread will regularly be updated with new pics over the next few days, so you may want to check back to it later.
The very first car that I spotted after arrival in Maranello was this purple 612 Scaglietti with an all-red interior! Actually the car looked blue from some angles and then purple again. So, probably a custom chameleon paint job - very special to see. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hi Olivier, Good question! I think that since the 16Ms all had the SF shields already mounted, probably several clients ordered the cars without these extra 16M badges. After all, many people consider the additional side badge below the 16M shields "too much". Ciao, Lars T.
Please don´t put Hyundai pics in my thread! If you want to complain about the 458´s design, you can do that in the 458 section. Thank you.
Although I had ordered my 16M without the side badge, the factory insisted on delivery with the badges installed....
Lars, I would even go further and state that complaints about the 458 design should be directed to Pininfarina directly and NOT put in such a nice thread. I remember everybody complaining about the California look, and now the car is frequently on the road this has stopped, as we are getting used to it. I haven't seen a 458 Italia in real yet, but I'm convinced that it's going to be a stunning car. And ones more, tastes differs from person to person. Eddy
always love your factory threads Lars. thanks for taking the time to stakeout the gates and for sharing your pics with us. any idea wat the little cross behind the window on the 612 in your first picture is? oh and I love the wheels on that 599!
Haha, yeah - that "no pics" sign has been there for many years. But, I´m sure it´s meant for all of those truck drivers and other visitors that enter the factory grounds through this gate. As I was standing on a public road, of course taking pics was no problem Ciao, Lars T.
Hi Derek, My pleasure, I´m happy to share my pics here, so that my approx. 22 hours (over 4 days) spent at these gates are also interesting for other fans Concerning the little cross, I´ve also wondered about it. It has it on both sides and the precise location looks like it´s been put there for a reason. Maybe also something the new owner specifically ordered, which has a special meaning to him? Ciao, Lars T.
Well, with this being Ferrari, I would not be surprised if they changed their mind later in the production run Ciao, Lars T.
To be sure. When I spotted that sign I showed my camera to the guy in the booth. He gave a little shrug and a smile.
I'm pretty sure this 612 belongs to a F chatter from Greece. I think he posted some pics of it in the 599/612 section, taken when he was at the factory. Thanks for sharing all those wonderful pics with us Lars!
Indeed, I have been pointed towards him by another member - I´ve just sent him a pm with an invitation to visit this thread to see if it´s indeed his car Ciao, Lars T.
Time for some more pics, this time from my second day. The weather was really bad, with rain all day and a nasty cold wind. It was not easy to take pics while holding a big umbrella at the same time, but I was rewarded for my efforts by a spectacular black F40 in LM-look! Lars, sincere thanks for the photos; I owe you a drink when I'm around your neck of the woods next! The Blu Iridescente car is indeed mine. The colour is one created by the Atelier team and it ranges between blue and grey with a hint of brown. The interior is Bordeaux, in the soft(er) Maculato type of hide. It has got absolutely all options except the US-only (I believe) homelink as well as the Greek Flag on the C-pillars. The embossing of the flags and the paintwork was done by Zanasi and I believe that it is the first Ferrari that is finished in Blu Iridescente. As posted elsewhere, I had a very brief look at the car prior to road testing, during the 458 launch festivities. Again, sincere thanks for this surprise in F-chat.
Hm, to get back to this question, now I see that all the 430 Scuderias on my pics also are tested without the rear badge. So, probably they and the 16Ms get the badges added after the test drive and I was wrong with my assumption that the client had them deleted. Ciao, Lars T.
