You can tell that it's time to open up the spring spotters. Numerous Porsches but more notably, Ferrari 360, Ferrari 550, 2 348 Speciales, and....... a Lotus Eleven all at Euroquipe this afternoon. Ps. Carbon interior looks great Paul!
Thanks Brian, its not half done yet. I got another center console surround and ebrake cover that are going to macCarbon for CF wrapping. the whole center will be CF similar to the 993s I am also changing out carpets at some point. I think I have a photo of what the center console will look like .. Did you see the new wheels there to be mounted?? Did you get the car yet:? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would love to do something like this to my center console. I've got a Porsche 996 and the center console has some coating to it that's beginning to scratch on the sides. I got a quote of $500 to wrap it all in alcantara, but it's not too bad yet. Not too much longer and I'll be heading to Euroquipe to switch wheels/tires to the summers!
Paul and Neil: Open a separate thread for your discussion which has nothing to do with "spotting cars".
Webby! We've been spotting the same cars! Last night I was walking down Chicago and heard that puppy coming. White, gold stripe, Ohio plates, and two really young looking guys driving it. Also saw a vantage somewhere on State that was ripping from light to light.
Silver SLS cruising down Chicago, too bad I didn't get to hear her roar! I've gotta get phone with a decent camera on it!
Just drove by my office window I think the Scud from earlier was different though; mine had gray stripes and it was a BGC car. Today I've seen: black, red F430 maroon, white 430 Scud black Spyker black Aston Martin silver SLS All driving by my office. I hate seeing them without getting pictures but I can't resist looking when I hear their engines. I did stop by BGC for lunch though. That Spyker is sexy! -- edit. Oh yes, and last night: black/white stripes Viper SRT/10 coupe yellow Elise yellow Gallardo Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I wouldn't sweat it. Some people have badges...others just WISH they had them. More importantly, there was a yellow Murci heading into the city on I-55 Wednesday night, and a grey Gallardo SL w/ wing on Halsted and Taylor this afternoon.
Just about every day on Erie behind my building I hear the blast of a red 430. Yesterday, I got a treat and about fell off of my couch when I heard a new white Gallardo 570-4 Superleggera tearing it up.
Today, while biking AND carspotting, I saw a Bentley Arnage, @ 6:15 going south onto Skokie Blvd. from Golf Rd. But, im heading out up north soon, so my day is definitely not over!
Andrew, Great spots! You must have a good vantage point at your office. BTW - I just saw your posts and questions from the Winter Spotters thread this evening. That thread is closed so I am replying here. Re: 360 Modena Loud Exhaust / Lower Wacker The exhaust on the 360 is a Tubi which was already fitted on the car when I bought it. The acoustics in Lower Wacker are some of the best in the city. Any reasonably loud exhaust will sound insanely loud down there (which is also a lot of fun).
You guys are seeing a problem where there is none. Paul and Neil had a very specific technical discussion that would be much better served by a separate thread (where others could also see/participate in it) rather then be "buried" in Spring Spotters. Never meant to hurt anyone's feelings here........ Not the best week overall for me, this one........
Mark, i hope the bad week ends now (or has already ended) and that you can make it to LFSC Australia GP viewing party!
Thanks Michael. Your car sounded amazing! You went down lower Wacker and turned around and went right back so I could tell you were just enjoying the music Today: aside from the BGC cars, saw this Maserati on Michigan Ave, same LP560-4 Spyder as a few weeks ago, black F430 being chased by a blue Bentley SS on Chicago Ave, and this interesting chameleon-paint right-hand drive Cobra replica Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This will be the only comment I make on this, because I am not really concerned with it. I received your PM about this "issue" and left it at your explanation of "just doing your job". But now you post about it again, which seems to open it for debate. Where do you see a "very specific technical discussion"? A poster posted a pic of his center console after someone else said it looked good. I simply posted that it did look good and I would love to do mine as well. That's a specific technical discussion to you???? You also talk about "just doing your job". I would think you should be happy with people getting along vs. the smack talk which usually rules car based forums. Also, you state you're keeping the peace in here. Then why did you allow someone to post a smart aleck "let me google that for you" reply to someone looking for info on go cart tracks in another Chicago thread? This was a new poster (your bosses would probably call them a future customer...) who probably got upset at this post and won't be back. There was no crack down from you there. As I stated, I left it alone because it was not a big deal. You chose to air it out again in the forum. I'm more than happy to let it go, as there's more important things to worry about than this. This is a great forum with great people. Back to spotting, please! Here's one my daughter took at Continental. I believe it's owned by the owner of MacNeil automotive products.
