http://news.windingroad.com/auto-news/caught-2008-nissan-skyline/ Hmmm.... I kind of like it. It's very unique in Japanese way. It's not the most beautiful car, but it's beautiful in ugly kind of way.
Yeah it doesn't look to bad to me either, has it good points and bad like the x4 milo tins for the exhaust
I love the design and I can't wait to see it stateside. Milo... Haven't had that since my trip to NZ 6 years back, that was practically all we drank. Peter Hatch
Many stores carry it in their foreign food selection - here in New England Shaws (Albertson's Co.) has it.
The GTR looks nice. I thought it looked terrible at first at the unveiling because of the strange roof line. Doesn't seem too bad. Got used to it I suppose. What the heck is a "food drink"?
I think they should pull the front of the roof down a bit, make the car more sleek. The kink in the roof makes it have a reminiscent look of the Koenigsegg.
I won't lie, I'm a buyer at 50-55k. It will likely take to mods without a problem, and be more refined than the Z06. If its anything like any other Nissan, the interior will still suck, but I bet the performance will make up for it. Kinda like a japanese Z06. I like the refined lines a lot better though, looks more mature to me, and will likely handle like a treat. Edit: It probably won't be as safe to 600 plus levels of power though like the old skylines, its a v6 and not the classic straight six. What are they getting 350Z's up to these days?
The 350Zs can go up to 900+hp with iron sleeves and fully built motor. There are already plenty of guys in the 500+rwhp area. Half shafts are a bigger problem. I think this GTR will have electronic parts in the turbo for low end pull. So it spools it up with an electric motor at low RPM.
CNN has an article about the GT-R: http://money.cnn.com/2006/10/12/magazines/business2/nissan_skyline.biz2/index.htm?postversion=2006101308 The article indicates prices will be close to $85k.
