Anyone seen or made something like this? The one that came with my BMW Z8 Alpina had BMW embroidered on it. There was an elastic strap on each side with a metal plastic coated hook attached. Put it over the back window, attach a hook to each side of the convertible top and put the top down. The protector stopped the plastic window from rubbing against itself when down.

The protector makes a big difference. I agree a micro fiber towel will work, but these are Ferrari's. Something with the name Ferrari and perhaps a prancing horse would be much more appropriate. Wonder if any of the vendors might be willing to explore a new product?

I'm not sure a cloth would help much. The plastic rear windows in our 360 or 430 spiders are supposed to bow rearward, not towards the front of the car. Most scratching may occur on the inner surfaces where they may make contact with each other. Those inner surfaces are on the inside surface, not the outside surface, when the window correctly bows rearward. So unless you could fashion a protector to go on the inside of the car and remain in place as the top lowers and folds, I don't see this being very helpful or worth the hassle.

The plastic windows on most other cars do the opposite, and bow towards the front, such that when viewed from the rear, outside the car, the folding plastic window forms a trough or valley. Applying the cloth or protector (as shown on the BMW Z8 above) then works well, but is still a hassle to attach each time you lower the top (or remove it once raised). The same kind of protector could be found on BMWs (before they went to a glass window design).

On the 360/430, as the top folds in the opposite direction, it would appear to be coming towards you, forming a ridge or mountain, not a valley. If it folds the other way, forwards, it will make contact with the folding mechanism and the scratching will show up as a longitudinal bar across the middle of the window. If your window shows that, start ensuring that your window bows instead towards the rear of the car as it folds. You may need to push it towards the back of the car as it folds, until it gets "trained." If you want to remove the scratchy "bar," try Meguiar's Plastic Polish or equivalent, applied to the inside surface (you can apply it to the outside, too, but that scratching is occurring on the inside).
