Hey guys - just curious if everyone else's convertible top squeaks/creaks/groans/rattles over rough roads, and if there are any fixes?

Well, keeping the windows up help support the windscreen. But for the frame, I hit all the joints with telfon spray lube with a rag handy to catch the overspray and keep it off the canvas. I think it helped because many of the roads here are crap, especially near may storage area outside of town. That's with 18 in wheels and lowered spring perches. ;)

I guess I've never noticed mine making any noise at all in the squeaks and groans department. I do have a ton of wind/road noise at speed though. That's worse then any drone you could get from exhaust setups and the only reason I'd like to switch to a B.

I have adjusted the mountings so that it closes tighter, that helped. My main issue is I had a terrible rattle coming from the front of the top close to the driver's side. Turned out there is a metal plate near the release handle that had come loose. I don't know what it is as I can't see it because it's hidden, but I was able to secure it with some tape and that took care of it.

having owned numerous convertibles I also found the only way to reduce (but not eliminate) the ragtop rattles is to lube the seals and play with the adjustments.

I assume you are talking with the top up. There are 2 rubber "bumpers" that keep metal frame elements from contacting each other. They are located just forward of center above the side windows on tabs at the first cross frame (where the elastic strap connects). If they are worn out, the metal can rattle.

I like to see a picture of that metal plate and its location...
