Here's a good one, and the next thing to fix on my list.

When I've started the car, there's sometimes a little belt squeak, and since I've owned, it the A/C hasn't worked, and would just make weird noises when I pressed the button (mostly belt squeaking). As I was under there to change the trans fluid from superlight shockproof to 75/90NS, I took a look at the AC. I was really surprised to find the compressor very very mobile on its pivot.

Bolt/Washer/Nut combo 14-16 seems to be at the very bottom of the slot travel, with gravity alone tensioning the belt. bolt 10 is completely snapped, with seemingly most of the bolt bottomed out. It's apparently been like this for a while. pushing on the compressor from underneath, the remainder of bolt 10 bottoms out on something, and what ever it bottoms on is enough to keep it from letting the belt skip off. My theory is that someone put the wrong length belt on, then tried to tension it, snapped the bolt, and just left it.

Does anyone have a picture of what the adjuster looks like from their engine out? I'll just have to get the car in the air a bit higher than just on the ramps so i can get a better look.
