I’ve been noticing my rear end has gotten squeaky over bumps this summer. A distinctive metal on metal kind of squeak. Obviously lots of possibilities, but what do we think is most likely? Bushings? Motor mounts?

Remind us what size wheels and tyres are you running ?

Thinking as the suspension pick up points of the upper wishbone , the factory has already altered along the way to improve the handling breakaway point ( give more warning to the driver ) .

My grandfather was a motor engineer ( kept the rolls Royce Merlins going in Spitfires / Lancaster bomber s during the WW2 ) .After the war went into maintenance of large fleets of cars etc .
Passed some of his skills to my farther who then passed them all be it diluted down to me .

One thing they both said re fitting bigger ( I mean wider ) wheels and tyres for more grip , was they put extra strain on the suspension joints , bushings .

Perhaps bcz the 348 s already has had a meddle re pick up points , and wheel offset changes , it’s on the edge , has a narrow envelope of acceptability of wider “ rims “ compared to say a stock GM / Ford product that you ran and possibly “pimped up “at high school ? This wear strain effect is super accelerated .
If my grandpa was right , knew what he was talking about ?
