    I've got a problem with my gas struts squeeking when lowering the engine compartment lid. The problem goes away for a short time if I coat the strut rod with a thin coat of lithium grease (WD-40 doesn't work) but it comes back (possibly due to the heat?).
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Sounds like you need some new struts. :D:D

    Or just put up with the squeak. How often do you open and close the engine cover? ;);)
