I have been having a ball with my recently purchased 456 but there is a left front suspension squeek that is driving me crazy. I will put it on the rack tommorrow and start looking. The squeek is present under acceleration and pulling into the driveway at an angle. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

After I had driven my new 550 for about one year I heard a groaning sound -- not a squeak -- coming from the front suspension. It was fixed by lubricating the solid metal joints between the front anti-roll bar and the short rods connecting the bar to the lower A-arms of the front suspension. This procedure may have to be repeated every 3 - 4 years, depending on use of the car.

I experienced the exact same issue on my 550, same left side, and most often heard pulling into the driveway at speed on an approach angle.

For me, it turned out to be my tires. How old are yours?

Even if they have relatively few miles, you still shouldnt keep them for more than 5 years...rubber will breakdown, adversly affecting their performance, and with that...stange noises ensue.

Hope this helps, completely cured my problems.

If your tires arent an issue, you might also want to try and check your engine/motor mounts....a problematic area for 456/550s. They may be allowing for some movement, which might cause the noise you described.

Thanks for the suggestions. Had the car on the lift yesterday lubricated everything in front suspension. She is now quiet as a church mouse
