St. Louis Area Lotus Lovers (STALLS) Annual Wine Run

I'll try to make it, I was hoping to watch the last F1 race at 11. Guess I'll record it.

Should be a good time, the MG and Healey club will also be there for the drive. The Ferrari has a very intermittent coolant leak that just occured again about two weeks ago but I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to check it out...Hopefully tomorrow so we can go on the drive...

Dammit! Hay guy called and he cut hay and I may have to pick-it up in the field on Sunday! Ugh!
I'll try to get some other manpower to pick-it up so i can make it. I hate payin people to do my work, but tommorrow looks to be a gr8 day and alot of cars!

ASWEEPAY, have you replaced the radiator cap? or is it definitely leaking from the radiator itself. I hear alot of problems are the caps.

looks like it'll be a great event, too bad i can't make it, just out of curiosity, what winery(ies) are you planning on visiting?

The coolant pools directly under the engine, I just got home so after I cut the grass I am going to crawl under it and see what is up. I have heard that the cap can be the cause of a lot of coolant leaks....I assume it has something to do with maintaining pressure (?) If it were consistent I would be less confused...it only happens once every few weeks.

Is STALLS an acronymn, or is it because lotus cars always stall?

It was a good time, great weather. It was a pleasure meeting some of the other people that also post on this site, you know who you are. Anyway, the pictures we took are crap, but when I get back into town I will try to go through them and see if any are worth posting. In the meantime, there are some at this site:

i just got a chance to really take a good look at the pics, those stalls guys look like they know how to put on an event! sorry i missed it...but then again...cough can't drink cough cough...2 more months...

I think I'll go again this year. I had fun last year, even though it got a little crowded. Met some nice people and had a some libations afterwards. Its for a good cause and alot of the British cars may be at a British/Euro car show in Memphis.


Anyone else going? I'll check back friday night. I think last year, Ken & I were the only two Ferraris, but we sure stood out amoungst the smaller British cars.

Hey Dave,

Believe it or not, I am actually in town this weekend, so we are talking about going also. It was a good time last year. It would be fun to bring the Healey, but it needs new tires, which I have decided means new wheels also, so it's an expensive proposition that I need to put off until next year. So if we go, it will be the "F" car again. Take care and hope to see you there.

 

HAHAHA The wife just walked in and I told her about your post, Dave...She said, "if Dave is going then we are going" so I guess it's settled, we will see you there on Saturday...

be sure to post up pictures guys. i remember seeing some from the event last year, it looked like the stalls guys have this thing down to a t.

I only took two pics, I will need to see how they came out. Dave and his wife were there with his sweeeet Mondial T...was a nice car to follow on the drive.... too bad
more "F" cars weren't there, but nice Lotus', DeLoreans, MGs a solstice GXP....overall a good time was had by all.....There is going to be a winery run on the 19th I believe, of course I am out of town for that one...

 

The STALLS run was a hoot! They are good FUN people. They have gr8 prizes as well. Good job Eric.

Ken & I managed to get the two Ferraris to the finish line and we even got some of the answers on the rally quiz right. LOL. Sorry didn't have a camera with me to take pix. There will probably be some on the STALLS website. If I can find them I'll cut & paste to here. Thats legal isn't it?

First car off at 9:15 am
Once again the MG Club and Triumph Club are privileged to invite you to the annual British Car Club Wine Tour.
Again this year we are traveling to Balducci’s Winery on Highway 94 in St. Charles County. We will arrive for the winery’s 11:00am opening.
Great company, great food and a pleasant drive with classic cars. Last year sixty cars participated in the drive with a wide variety of cars including Austin Healey, Mgs, Lotus, Sunbeams, Ferrari, Triumphs, Cobra replica and Rolls Royce. You are invited to drive any vehicle, just bring your enthusiasm.
This year we will take a different route through Franklin County, and St. Charles County. We will assemble at the Dierberg’s Town Center, Taylor Dr. and Manchester (2 miles west of Clarkson), for a brief drivers meeting at 9:00am.
You may bring a picnic lunch, or order from the menu that includes some of the best pizza in the area. However, we have been asked by the winery not to bring beverages on site.

 

Anyone else getting up in the AM to go?
