    hey guys do any of you know a local source for stabilant 22? I've got some eletrical gremlins that I need to address and this stuf is suposed to the the shisnit.

    You may also want to consider a product called Deoxit, which is sold by Caig industries (www.caig.com). It is just as good as (and supposedly better, according to their website) Stabilant 22, but a lot cheaper.

    You can usually find it at places like Radio Shack, and I've even seen it at computer stores.

    Stabilant can be ordered through any NAPA auto parts or VW dealer. Call first, as I doubt that any of them stock it, so you will have to order and wait a day or two.

    The Craig product sounds interesting, and may be worth a try. The sheet provided looks great, but I am a bit dubious of the information, since it is produced by them, not independantly (not that it couldn't be entirely true). Stabilant does have the backing of being used by auto manufacturers, and the US military.

    I learned about Dexoit from the Alfa Digest people a long time ago (Alfa owner's are notoriously cheap!). I've been using it for years, with great results. It's cured a lot of electrical problems on both my Alfa and Ferrari. I keep a small bottle in the glove compartment just in case.

    It's waay cheaper than Stabilant, and I think more easily available (I got mine from Radio Shack). I decided to try it first, and if I didn't like it, I would spring for the Stabilant. I'm still using Deoxit... (Damn, they should start paying me to be their spokesman!)

    Hey Dom I resemble that remark, but Keeping my Alfa on the road has not been cheap at all.

    Knock on wood, but my 164 hasn't been too bad compared to my prior Spider. I too, resemble that remark.

    Hope your electrical gremlins are gone.

    I wish. As usual I fix one problem only for another one to show up on the test drive. Now it appears that I have a coil pack going bad again. This is the 3rd one in 2 months!! and at $100 a pop It's getting very old.
