Because they know most new Ferrari owners are poseurs and won't be driving their car enough to keep the battery charged. I have owned six Ferrais without a battery tender and have never had a battery go dead because it sit in the garage too long. Unless of course Ferrrai has knowledge that either their charging system is too weak or their new cars have such a pararsitic power leak that the batteries will go dead after sitting a few weeks or so. Which option do you prefer?
I do...it is an additive you put in the gas of a vehicle you plan to store. Same argument applies....why would Ferrari pay its dealers to put Stabiliant in the gas of its cars unless it knew the owners were not going to drive the car enough to use the gas before it went back...unless of course it knows most of it's new car owners are poseurs?
Thanks for proving my point. I'm glad I don't need a lawyer in Ga. Makes me wonder what the Bar exam consists of.
I did once. All it did was clog the fuel filter. Just goes to show what happens when people are giving advice on a topic they haven't a clue about.
Daniel, The version of Stabilant you offer (22A) is pre-diluted. That's what's been recommened to me as it's too easy to waste a lot otherwise. This one is not diluted. You can put it on full strength if you want or mix some in the provided mixing bottle. You don't have to mix it all at once. It doesn't make Walmart gallons but it does make 25ml @ a 4-1 ratio. For the klutz owner it may be a problem but then he/she probably won't even be touching the connectors on these cars. Here's an even better link: http://www.posthorn.com/Stab_2.html They have other combinations as well.
There is ANOTHER product for gas that is very close in name to this. This is for electrical connections.
This is a bit of an unfair generalization some owners new or older cars cannot always be driving them as much as they want to ensure best condition that does not take away from their passion or committment to owning a Ferrari. I have had many cars over the years and used battery tenders on most with no issues.
You misunderstand. I was referring to the moron who told me to put white lith in the gas a while back. This is the internet where any cluless soul can be an expert. Sad part is someone will listen.
1.1 No "Flaming": Please do not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another user. I would say that calling another poster a moron is an insult. But I guess when you are an expert "consultant" it is OK????
Just who did I refer to as a moron? No one here. I was very specific about that, I even corrected LarryS when he misunderstood. And if I cannot call a mythical unnamed person in another venue a moron I guess we better close the P+R section shouldn't we. Lighten up and see a joke as a joke.
and this one was a joke too?? someone confuses "stabil" with "Stabilant" and you belittle him. You are a funny guy!
No, his complete and total lack of knowledge or understanding of the thread is what I was belittling and then only after he chose to display it by belittling and insulting a great many Ferrari owners he obviously does not consider his equal. Or did you just choose to not notice that he referred to "most" of them as "poseurs" not once but twice? I even offered him a chance to correct himself, a chance he chose to ignore. I made fun of Frank, Frank insulted Ferrari owners at large. In this venue which is worse? If you are looking for a violation of FCat rules, that is one. By his own words he flamed and insulted "Most" of the owners of "New Ferrari's". Unlike your inaccurate reading of my comments his do include a great many people here. He is little more than a troll. Just what exactly are you?
I stand corrected...I thought the post was referring to the fuel additive to prevent your engine gumming up in long term storage
Deep breath. relax... Everybody knows Stabila makes high-end levels for carpenters and builders. We got gas additive confused with electrical corrosion inhibiter, that's all. And I suspect the comment about putting lithium grease in the gas tank was just a joke that somebody didn't 'get'.
It's no wonder guys like Rifledriver and ferrarifixer are now reluctant to offer their hard earned and wise advice to those who are in need when then they get crap like this. It sux that a few have spoiled it for the many.
I'm so sorry...I should have included the owners of any marque(not just Ferraris) who let their car sit so long that they need a battery tender to keep their battery charged as a poseur...and those that need anti-gumming fuel additives too...whether the car is new or old. Now did that include everyone I may have missed in my earlier posts?
Brians "hard earned" advice is always welcome but he has no right to belittle and insult others when giving it. The rules here apply to all even those that offer "hard earned" advice.
Could we have Rodney King moment please? That is, after you all stop beating each other up. This thread was originally about a corosion inhibitor. Perhaps we are in greater need of a derision inhibitor? Love and kisses
