Can any one help me with this problem, the problem is when I come to a stop the car just shuts its self off. I turn the key and starts right up. The other issue is as I'm going through the gears it shuts its self off and I have to come to a stop and it start right up. This is my first Ferrari and this is pretty bad...
Welcome to Ferrari Chat, and congratulations on your 348! It would help us to advise you on this if you would fill in your profile so we know where you are and if your car is a USA model. Of course your engine shouldn't stall like that, but it's probably something simple, unless someone has been messing around with it not knowing what they are doing. The Motronic computers should be able to keep the engine at a steady idle below 1000 rpm. As a first step, have you had the battery unhooked, replaced, or run dead recently? If so, you may find that the issue is as simple as "re-initializing" the Motronics to their baseline settings. It's very easy and doesn't cost anything. Use the search function to check the archives on this, or ask for an explanation. Lots of us can advise you. Good luck!
I suspect you need to perform the "Idle relearn" procedure, so the engine can reacquire its idle parameters (which are different than its "just started" parameters.)
I had the same problem when slowing down for junctions etc after a hard drive my 348 would stall. I turn the key and it fires back up. All very distressing at the time! Problem was due to the revs being to low when idling. So when the engine slowed down it dropped below a certain amount of revs and cut out. The garage adjusted the revs and it never happened again.
