SOME TIMES DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I WILL SHIFT INTO 2ND. GEAR AND THE CAR WILL TURN OFF BUT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND IT WILL REMAIN RUNING, ANY OTHER GEAR IS FINE. REMOVE CONSULE TO INSPECT SHIFTER ROD HITTING ANY WIRE HARNESS BUT ALL CLEAR. I ALSO CHECK ALL CONNECTORS TO ECU AND MAIN HARNESS CONNECTOR ON FRAME WHEN REMOVE ENGINE

    Do you mean:

    1. As the RPMs naturally drop, when moving the shifter from 1st to 2nd, the RPMs just keep dropping down to zero (i.e., the engine stalls), so the alternator warning like comes "on" and the gauges keep working, or

    2. All electrical power is lost -- no alternator warning light even though the key is "on" and all the gauges go dead?
