Anyone from NJ going to the Festa Di Ferrari concours in Stamford on Sunday Sep 30? The meeting point is the GDC World Headquarters / Arena Motors at 8AM. I will bring coffee and doughnuts. Last year I ended up with way too much coffee and doughnuts and too few participants and arrived in Stamford sweaty, trembling, and barely able to speak. The Boxer and anyone else who is going will get on the road at 9AM.
Yes it is free, although they ask for a modest voluntary contribution and there is a silent auction, all to raise money for charity. The show is a lot of fun, this is the third year I think. It is well worth going to see. The turnout of cars is quite good. John
The Festa di Ferrari in Stamford on Sunday September 30th is shaping up to be a fantastic event. In addition to the Ferraris registered for the show, there will be a large number of Ferraris arriving for lunch as Wide World of Cars is ending their rally at the Festa. We could have as many as 120 Ferraris on display all at one time. The Festa, this year, is part of an Italian Cultural Week being celebrated in Stamford from September 28th through October 7th. Since the week is highlighting contributions of Italian Americans, the Festa is being dedicated to the memory of Luigi Chinetti, the first person to import Ferraris to the United States and the man who founded N.A.R.T. To help us celebrate, Chinetti's son, Luigi Chinetti Jr. will be doing a presentation at the Ferguson Library in Stamford on Saturday Sept. 29th at 4pm. He will be showing slides of various races and a video of a successful attempt to break several FIA sportscar speed records at Bonneville. The car used in those trials, a 1970 512M, will be at the Festa the following day. We will also be doing a small street display of Ferraris on the corner of Bedford and Forest streets following Chinetti's talk. The display will include one of the first Comp. Daytonas. So if you are in or around Stamford don't miss Chinetti's presentation on Saturday and definitely don't miss the Festa di Ferrari on Sunday September 30th, 11am to 4pm. admission is free, but this is a charity event so we do ask for a voluntary contribution or participation in our silent auction. This year's auction includes a 20 minute track session at Lime Rock in a 355 challenge car (no, you don't get to drive) and a track session including dinner at the fabulous new Kart Track in Mount Kisco New York. (yes, you do get to drive) For more info: www.festadiferrari.com

Likewise! Weather is looking to be nice and cool on Sunday. Partly cloudy and 69F. Merritt Pkwy here I come....
I love Rte 15...! So beautiful and fun on early Saturday and Sunday mornings when no one's around. Can you get to Festa di Ferrari from 15...? If so, of which exit do you need to get off...?
I hear great things about this show! If you are available you should attend as it is a personal event and oppurtunity to see some great vintage Ferrari's of some great collectors in the area. If you think of which major Ferrari collectors are in Fairfield County I am sure that most likely cars from Sachs, Pappalardo, Auriana, Letterman, and many others. Buzz good luck with the concours as well as other board members here!
Probably a taxi cab is the best. It is maybe a 10 minute ride and cost would be about $10. I don't know the Stamford bus routes so can't say whether they run up that road or not. John
thanks a lot! that's what i anticipated doing, but was just wondering if there was another way. can't wait!
You brought great karma! #48257 wins 1st place in her category for the second year in a row! Roger/Jay/Steve/Steve/Paul/Russ: Good to see all of you again.
