I just bought tickets to go see Ron White - can't wait, he's hilarious! Anyone see him live before? Who are some of your faves? Who have you seen live, and would recommend?
Eddie Izzard is fantastic and I have seen Dave Chappelle live. My recommendations for Dave if he still tours and I would love to see Eddie if he ever came near here!!
i've seen dave chappelle before, his show is good, but john lovitz's was even better. i'm surprised that some of the unknown comedian's shows are sometimes better than the big name ones.
My favorites: Jim Gaffigan Zach Galifianakis Greg Behrendt Stephen Lynch Nick Swardson Zach is the only one I've seen live.
Jim Gaffigan Pablo Franscisco Demitri Martin Definitely my top 3. Look them up on YouTube and you'll get an idea of them.
I go to the Irvine Improv quite often, they have a Local talent night that I'm a pretty big fan of. I really like Ben Gleib, and Chris Porter. Thanks for this thead, it reminded me to go tomorrow night..
Years ago, there was a guy out of New York called Chris Rush who was about the funniest MF I can think of....
man, george carlin was great in his younger days, but we went to a show about a year ago, and pretty much all he talked about was teenage suicide. i've pretty much decided that i will never listen to him again, because to me there are some things that just aren't funny. i did see dustin diamond a few months back, that was a pretty good show, he's definitely come a long way from his days as screetch.
I've seen Ron White live - great show. "You can't fix stupid." I've seen way too many others to list, and it's hard to pick a favorite. The most recent one I saw that I had been trying to see for a long time was Pablo Fransisco. He was great. I also saw Chris Titus a while back. Another great show. I'd like to see Lewis Black. I like his style of delivery. I saw Rodney Dangerfield in Vegas not too long before he died. He was awesome. At 80-something he still had it. Mike
wow! that's a bold statement. You must have a very limited sense of humor to state there are no funny Americans. You would have to spend time with all of us to make that statement.
There are - they are called talk-show hosts. Anyway, I was in Colorado Springs 15 years ago and saw a guy named Lloyd Woodbie (sp?), he was the funniest guy I'd see in a long time. Steven Wright is great, so is Ron White. George Carlin was awesome - 30 years ago, he's not too good anymore, comparatively speaking.
I have always liked "black" comedy so much more. Only people white humour I like is Lewis Black, Borat, and Steven Colbert.
I go to the DC Improv fairly often and gotta say the 'big' names I've seen haven't been nearly as funny as the opening acts. Funniest guy I've seen so far is Jim Short... hilarious Aussie with the best al qaeda jokes ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Out7AE7JpIg http://www.jimshort.com/ Frank Caliendo has the best impersonations, and Robin Williams is probably just the funniest human alive. -R
lil' jimmy is great. Louis CK, Rich Vos, Bonnie McFarland, Bob Saget(he isn't how you probably think he is), Patrice O'Neal. Yeah, pretty much the whole O&A Crew. Eddie Izzard is really funny too.
