Standard Equipment for 612?

Was @ Ferrari dealership Lake Forest Sportscars this afternoon. They had two new 612 Scaglietti's. A black 2007 and a Silverstone One-to-One 2008. I couldn't help but notice a body coloured "bump" on their trunks . Both cars had XO sattelite radio/navigation system as standard. These cars are visually challenged as is. Now you add a golf-ball sized wart on it's trunk? The one in Silverstone actually looked nice. Took a while as they had a '84 512BB on it's left and a '99 550 on its right. I'm just wondering if this thing on it's trunk is part of a option? Thanks

AFAIK You are correct that its for the NAV which is now standard w/ the bose etc for '08 and beyond. You don't notice it after a while.

 

All the new 612s have nav. It's a nice system. It sounds like you don't like the looks of the 612 anyway. I do, though!

I didn't like the one's i've seen in person (three of 'em ~ all black/black) There were two @ this Ferrari dealership in Chicago. Another black/black, but also a 2008 Silverstone/Couio that, as I said in my post, really grew on me. The dark[er] metallic with tan looked elegant.

Silverstone is the way - I think black is too much in a 612 (and I love black cars). IMO the very best modern F-car, I love mine. Not in any way a financial investment, but a wonderful way to travel.
