For those that have seen the car could you please help with some impressions? I just dont know how good leather or Alcantara will look with the stripped down flooring and race feel of car ....

Combination of Alcantara and Technical Fabric did it for me.

I am sorry, just my humble personal opinion, but i did not like the technical fabric on the dash and the doors at all--- look somehow cheap......; ok, maybe its sportive; anyway, i asked the personal in the atelier, they said, the weight gain if you choose leather instead of alcantara or the technical fabric material is minimal, so i opted for the complete leather interior except for some minor alcantara-parts (middle console). Again, just MHO. Regards, e; BTW-until know i have never noticed, that the small reectangular side windows of the 599 GTB are made of polycarbonate :), just found out recently....

I've also decided to opt for almost complete leather. Somehow the sportier fabric package just doesn't seem to work for me on a 500K+ car. Especially given its weight and size. Also considering the fact that the interior layout is almost identical to my previous 599 which was done in full leather which in my yiew was stunning. I see no reason to change it on the GTO.

If the "technical fabric" is the stuff used in the trunk, I would definitely pass on that.

BTW, i opted for a leather-furbishes trunk interior (i think it was alcantara, light blue)

Hi Emanuel! For what I´ve heard regarding the door panel: If you prefer a full alcantara interior, the panel of the airbag will allways be technical fabric...The same for a full leather interior.

Leather. just leather... just my opinion. I think fake suede is going to run its course in the time machine... where as leather will never die.

Also, fake suede on the dash can fade very quickly if not careful (at least here in AZ)

personally, i think the all suede interiors kind look like all velour interior.... I think if used, its best used either on the bolsters (which adds grip to the seat) the occasional door panel insert, roll bar wrap, or headliner. Simple touches go along way...

    Just my opinion

Even though I like the Alcantara/T3D combination on my Scuderia, I must confess that I didn't think it suited my GTO

Initially I opted for carbon racing seats in leather, with the middle part in Alcantara, but then I saw an actual seat trimmed this way and didn't like it that much

So I decided to get carbon racing seats in FULL black leather (can be done as a special request). I added red stitching (no.2 spec, slightly thicker than standard), as well as the prancing horse and GTO logo on the headrest.

It still looks very very sporty (due to the stitching and logos on the headrests), but I think it will fade less and look better in 5 years' time!

That really does sound like a fantastic combination, friend of mine was considering full alcantara but again we have a very hot climate down here so leather will probably look better in the long term as well as wear better.

Its my understanding that it is more of a vetting process than a formal written acceptance letter. The dealer pleads your case in writing and verbally with FNA. FNA either excepts the dealers recommendation or it doesn't. Your dealer will be notified if and when that decision has been made.

I do not know what FNA's process is but in Europe the quiet word was to make sure that the cars will go to folk that will use them. The size of the US market is evidently putting FNA in the difficult position having make some kind of selection as it is a certainty that the GTO will be built up to the 599 mark and no further.

Now, on the thread subject. I've spent more than two hours in the Atelier trying to decide what my GTO will be like. I still see a GTO as a V12 that has to combine elegance and comfort in addition to blistering performance. Not sybaritic like the 612 OTO but with a certain luxurious tactile feel that natural leather imparts. For this reason, my selection is a combination of leather and alcantara, without any of the fabrics of the standard spec. I've specified all CF elements possible in gloss for reasons of longevity and repairability should a random scuff occur.

Ah yes, the electric seats as well...
