I live in central texas - a very hot climate this time of year. Im just curious what your standard oil and water temperatures read during the summer months. When do you get worried your car is getting too hot?

From memory, I would say when fully warmed up, oil at around 190-200, or 11 o'clock.

210 on water and 230 on oil is about as high as mine gets on 100 degree days in traffic.

I find I normally sit about 180 (just past the first mark on the gauge which I guess is 175) while on the freeway and go up to high 190's low 200's pretty quickly in traffic, of course I am guessing since the gauge says 140, then a mark then 210 but its a good guess. The oil usually stays near the mark which again would be 175, usually just on the high side of it so 180. I only see the oil go above that when in parking lot speeds on the freeway in 100 degree days or on the mountain roads where I play. Seems to take a lot of to move the oil up in temps.

My cooling fans seem to keep the car below 210 no matter what. When in Arizona in 100+ days I worry when either gauge goes above the middle mark and start wondering why, 210 water and 230 oil since that seems to be abnormal for my car. Track days from what I understand (not tracked mine) the oil can get quite hot.

I'm in Austin and just ran the car up to the dealer yesterday. Outside temp was over 100. With the car moving, the temp was at about 10 (I can't remeber the numbers on the gauge.) When moving, it usually stays at about 10 no matter the outside temp.

Yesterday I got stuck in stop and go traffic on I35 for 1/2 an hour. The temp rose to midpoint/12 and then started to edge over to about 1. Once I got moving again it dropped back to 10-11. That's about the worse I've ever seen it, but traffic was bad and we were hardly moving.
