I have what sounds like a belt noise at idle. It comes and goes. We changed all of the accessory belts, tensioners, and idler wheels. Still has the noise which sounds like a chirping sound. We ran the engine without belts for a short time and still had the noise so it's not a belt. Ferrari has no idea. Anyone had the issue?

Maybe you could post a short video of the sound. We could get an idea of the frequency and "tone". It could get you many opinions here. Good luck!

Isn't the water pump driven by the belt? He said the noise is still there even after they ran the engine without any belts.

I would leaning towards the timing belt tensioner

Missed that Robin. In that case, replace the water pump! Kidding. Let me think about that one.

its the engine idling at low temp, and the warming up is making the noise, like a high pitched peak noise, and stays around for abit. but after awhile it shouldnt be happening, but ive heard after a long hard drive it will do it when at idle

My 360 has started to do the exact same thing! I was wondering if it was a belt tensioner and was thinking of having a belt service done to eliminate the sound. Service isnt yet scheduled, so if anyone has any idea of the potential source perhaps I can prevent the service cost.
Chirping sound is noticable at idle when engine is warmed up, but vanishes when engine runs above idle.

Does anyone have now a clear idea of the reasons for this noise? My 360 has also started to do this noise and maybe some of you can help me with the experience you had several months ago...
    Thank you very much.

I'm not suggesting that this is the problem, but FYI....

My Challenge Stradale recently broke a weld on an exhaust bracket which at idle and low speeds made a noise which sounded like failed bearing, belt idler, etc. It was a easy cheap fix for such a god awful scary noise.

heard the same thing from my 2003 spider. It only chirps for a second on the cold start- then nothing. SOUNDS like a tensioner.

Thanks, i'm gonna check it tomorrow, it really looks like a belt squeaking noise, i start hearing it when throttle idle at 30 km/h and it stops making this noise 2 or 3 seconds after stopping the car. The frequency of the noise decreases like a belt speeding down then stopping.

I know this thread is ancient by now but I have exactly the same phenomenon on my 360.

If anybody has a good idea where to look for the source I'd be glad. So far I had a stethoscope on all accessories but could not locate the source.

Spray a thin mist of water from a spray bottle onto the pulleys and belts and see if it goes away. Sometimes a dry belt on a dry pulley (from lack of driving) causes this same noise
