Awsome - thanks! Hey Rob, is it true they have the whole movie for download up in the Rossa section?.....
I used to be a big fan but not anymore. Lucas got lazy with computer generation. Hayden and Natalie are just not good for their parts. Sorry to be such a downer but I honestly had high hopes for I and II. They sucked and I fear III will be no different. My humble opinion so flame on!!
actually, they don't really act in these movies. they just read the lines. that's it. lucas gives zero direction. this is why the only actor in the recent movies has been obi wan, and yoda if you want to include him.
I completely concur. Have lost all interest... AND THAT'S COMING FROM DA BOUNTY HUNTER!!! --Dan PS - where be da dirrty darf?
Have you read the latest Wired magazine article on Lucas? It's an interesting take on his lack of direction/interest in dialogue- he flat out said that he's more interested in the visual medium of film and that even if any of the movies were devoid of sound you'd still be able to follow the plot with no problem (IMO, he's entirely correct). That doesn't excuse the crap acting, but it's an interesting thought. The one thing that's missing from the new films is a Han Solo type of character to add some levity to the situations. C.
I wonder how much of the Han Solo character's flair and panache was HF adding his own touch, since it's been noted that Lucas doesn't offer much direction re: dialogue.
Not sure when its out in the UK (I think the Prem is Monday 16th May with general release next week, not sure) but a mate got two tickets to see it Sunday at a preview. Should be good! When's it out in the US?
Thursday, May 19 is the official release for the US...a friend in Australia has told me it will come out on the same day also, so I'm guessing worldwide also.
I don't know, Scott. There are some pretty meager reviews on that site....I'm still holdin' to my original post.
After seeing Episode II at midnight on the opening night, and cringing multiple times through the film, even the Admiral has lost most of his interest, despite being a massive fan during childhood from 1996 - 2000. My brother told me a few days ago that he bought me a ticket for the opening night of Episode III. I told him to either get a refund or sell it to a friend (which he did). Why should I bother to wait in a huge line, stay up most of the night and feel like crap the next morning just to see another computer-generated dissapointment with stilted acting and horrible dialogue?
After the last two movies, the only way to go is up....they hit absolute rock bottom. I'm holding out some hope, might even be worth going to the theater for.
Gents, I'm not a massive fan of SW films, but got invited to a preview screening today. I'm not a film critic by any mean, but I really enjoyed it. The effects are very good and I thought some of the fight scene's were great. There's also some nice humours touches in there (amongst others, an alien farts at one point, and embarrassingly muters "excuse me"). All up, although the story line will not be a surpsise to anyone, its an enjoyable film and it will no doubt make Lucas a few more dollars. Jamie
One thing in common with Porky's 1 and 2: I didn't see either Porky's, but they were both better than the last two Star Wars movies, because nothing could be worse.
