I have noticed that when I start my CS, I depress the start button when the "ok" comes on and sometimes I have to hold the start button down for a second or two before the car starts. Usually this happens when the car has been sitting. Sometimes I feel like the button isn't going to work. When I first got the car, when hesitation would happen I would start getting off the button just as it was going to start. The feeling is somewhat anxiety provoking because I get the feeling that the button is going to fail sometime soon. Maybe this is normal. Has anyone else experienced this with their car? I would appreciate any imput. I did a search on this but didn't seem to find anything on it.

Do you mean before the car starts to turn over or actually catches and runs?

Mine sometimes takes a few turns to start, but otherwise no problems with the start button. I do sometimes unpop one of the crappy window lifter buttons when I press the start button, but then in pops right back in again :)

Do you leave the car in gear?

It sometimes takes a couple of seconds for the car to shift itself into N before the starter is operated.

What I am talking about is when I get in, with the car in nuetral i turn the key until the "ok" comes on and when it does I press the start button. Sometimes i have to hold the button down for 1-2 seconds (which feels like a minute) before the car starts to crank. I sometimes get the feeling that one day when I push the button down, the car won't crank anymore.

Shouldn't happen then. My routine is park the car in 1. Then on start wait for OK, take Neutral, then press Start. I've never had a problem like this.

I experience exactly that with my CS. I have just learned to "relax" and keep holding down the Start button until it finally decides to start (3-5 secs often)... never have had any problem, once I learned to relax and wait for that beautiful startup growl... but it was disconcerting at first.

If the F1 pump is still priming the hydraulics due to the door being opened, battery voltage may be sufficiently low to delay the starter relay being energised.

    Not a programmed thing, just a by-product.

Try putting your seatbelt on before you press the start button!! The time it takes you may be all the pump needs to finish its work!

While at the Homestead event this past weekend, I was speaking with one of the Ferrari techs. When he came over to my car and we went to start it, he indicated that I shouldn't press the "Start" button until after the "Ok" has cycled completely (ie. illuminated, then gone out).
