    As Iget to know the car better I find that I have more questions...sometimes when I try to start the car the solenoid clicks but nothing happens until I try a couple of more times...don't think its the battery.its fully charged...solenoid?..starter? or??? thanks all, Marc

    If the battery is fully charged I'd suspect the solenoid. It also serves as the starter relay and this is the portion that is giving you trouble.
    The contacts get pitted with use and especially when cranking with a low battery as might be common on seldom used cars.
    I haven't been inside the F starter but many can be disassembled, cleaned up and are good as new.

    I had the exact same problem. I decided to buy a new startee from

    www.ferraristarters.com. It seems to be a subcompany for www.britishstarters.com

    and it work perfect.

    When time comes I will restore the old one.

    Thanks guys.will check out the solenoid and if cleaning isn't possible with replace for now...marc
