    Hi all,

Thx in advance for any advice. Just the other day I drove my 06 f430 f1 to a mall and parked it on a spot with probably a 10-15% tilt towards the right side of the car (passenger side) and left it for maybe 30 mins to pick up a few things. After I got back into the car, I go to push the start button and I hear this loud mechanical whirring noise as if something was spinning freely very fast. I let the car rest for 30 secs before I tried the button a second time and the same thing happened. It was then that I removed the key, got out of the car and waited a few mins before reentering to give it a go, this time without any hiccups. I guess my silly question is, will parking on steep angles and specifically ones leaning certain ways affect the fluids in the tubes and or the starter motor solenoid, etc etc? And has anybody experienced this b4 as well? thx much!

That steep angle you parked on wouldnt affect anything mate. :):)

It sounds like your starter motor is starting to play up. :):)

The pull in solenoid in the starter is on its way out. ;);)

Either that or your flywheel is worn out in one paticular spot!:eek:

As Pap said, the angle shouldn't affect the starting of the car. It sounds like the bendix (the pinion gear that moves on the starter) wasn't engaging the flywheel. The high speed whine would be the starter spinning with no load from the flywheel. If it was any other car I'd say just wait to see what happens as it could be a strange one off, but you might consider taking it to the shop of your choice to see what they think.
