Can I have member's thoughts on the correct starting procedure? I start mine and let it idle for at least 2-3 minutes sometimes longer. I also find that the car takes at least 5-10 miles of driving under 3000 rpm to really settle down and not only does it feel more comfortable but the whole exhaust sound and idle feels like it is a different car than when first started.

    any thoughts?

I normally store mine with the top up, so when I get in to go for a drive I start the car, put the top down and clip the cover on, this normally takes a few minutes. Once out of the drive way I don't take it over 4000rpm until she has warm oil.

What you are doing sounds fine to me.
