I know most of you hate Ferrari kit cars, but These are hard to fine original. I am starting a California replica build using a tube chassis and glass body. The mechanicals will be Ford based using a GT40 crate engine producing 345 horse. Transmission will be a 5 speed standard and hoping to install an independent rear suspension.
I will post build pics as I progress for any that want to see them. I usually only build Cobra and Shelby Daytona replicas, but gotta try something

Sounds like a fun project. I for one would love to see progress pics. Will you be doing this in a/your shop, garage, or do you have a large space somewhere?

    Personally I don't care...

you're not trashing a 250 gte so that'll eliminate a lot of "hate"...

    I'd love a TR61 clone, so I'd be a hipocrit!

doubt the thread will last long in the ferrari section though...

Sounds like fun Mike. Please by all means take lots of pix and document your progress for us as often as possible. I would love to see all the components you're using, how they go together and how it looks (and drives) when you're done.

We all love Ferraris around here but many of us are also "car guys" and love a project like this. Thanks for sharing and best of luck!

Have fun with the builds. Especially the roof.
