Ok, I can live with that...Until I have to revert to your fix you've mentionned ealier. But..if it works now that I cleaned it...What can cause it to stop working except more grime? Will it melt or what?
At its best it is a poor connection. Yours is already compromised and will stop working again. Call me odd but I have no use for a car that I hope will start. If gas is not the only thing preventing me from driving it anywhere, anytime I have no use for it and there will soon be an empty space in the garage. Life is too short for an unreliable car.
I am sure he is very familiar with the system but CIS is an American name and he does not recognize it.
thank you for explaining CIS sure I know this and I know how it works, easy system, no electronic, but often problems because of old fuel or getting wrong air sure the TR has check valves, one for each side also each side one cold start valve
Agreed that life is too short to drive an unreliable car. Can you or someone else around here provide a picture of this for the noob that I am? I have no way to tell what a "1/4 insulated spade connector" is...
JEGS sells the solenoid in post #22 as a complete kit for about the same price replete with proper wiring and instructions. Look under Chevy hot start solutions. I bought one and am about to install it on my 1980 400i. I hope that this is of some use to someone. Thanks. Jq.
Bump! Can someone provide pictures of this so I can try do something about it during the Holidays? TIA
There is a photo of the C11 connector (the one under the coolant expansion tank) in this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/technical-q/106848-ace-electric.html
I have recently noticed my car doing what the op stated needing to crank it over 3-4 times prior to it firing up. I have no problem with a hot restart as it fires immediately with the key in position III. If I have read this thread correctly Steve suggests a jumper between the two white wires at the fuse panel and Rifledriver suggests removing the white wire from the C11 connector under the coolant tank and the the install of an insulated spade connector to replace the poorly designed bullet connector? Cheers
