For the past month my car has thrown multiple system errors on start up. I stop and restart it but it usually takes at least 3 and as many as 5 restarts from all the errors. I have also discovered that you cannot drive it this way because those systems are not coming online, they are remaining disabled. You have to keep stopping and restarting until they all sync up and in the colder weather this is taking longer.

What are other people experiencing or are you just not driving your car in cooler temperatures? I am only talking about 40F or so not freezing, I don't take the car out when it's that cold but 40-50 doesn't concern me. The startup is getting to be a drag though. This never happens when it's warm weather.

Your car should easily be able to start and run correctly in sub freezing temperatures. I would look at two simple things. First check your coolant concentration. If it has too high a water content you may be getting some light freezing in the system that is throwing the coolant temp sensor off. Unlikely but costs nothing to check. The second thing would be to check or replace the coolant temp sensor. Again if this reads off then it can lead to all kinds of computer glitches.

As with all italian cars...I would start by changing the battery. Your battery may be on the edge and the cold is just pushing it over.

Excellent tip. I would totally do the battery first.
