    Hi,

A friend of mine will attempt to start a F355 which has been parked (stored in a garage) for about 1 year. From my understanding it had been serviced just before being stored.

Are there any precautions to be aware of when doing this? Is there a checklist to go through, that a non-mechanically inclined person can go through?

Please let me know and I'll forward the information onto her.

    Thanks!

Assuming fresh battery in the car and fire extinguisher handy fire her up. Follow the owners manual instructions to the letter. Be patient. Prepare for numerous attempts to start. If after 3-5 attempts she does not start - give it a 10 minute rest and repeat. Also post in the 355 section.

One year shouldn't be a problem. Like mentioned above an extinguisher is always a good precaution. Turn the key and let the fuel pump, fully prime the system for 5-10 seconds , then start. Put fresh fuel in it as soon as possible. Maybe put some octane booster in the old fuel to help burn it off. I'm sure it's "stale".

You may want to check with your Ferrari mechanic.

Assume this is not an option at this stage due to the short notice.

    Thanks!

Make sure when you start it you do not pump the accelerator.

If you do this it will be almost impossible to start as you will foul a spark plug.

Just crank it over and it should start first time considering the battery is charged.

Assuming it starts (eventually), it will probably run rough for a bit (?). Should she let it idle until it gets a regular heartbeat and then drive it? Or can it be driven right away (no agressive driving)?
