I completely understand the concept of trading out of the latest Ferrari for the next one before it is "too late" (read expensive). I did it myself multiple times before my current spider.
I also understand that the newest ones' trade hands quickly. It is just the way it is. That is until depreciation sets in to the point where, like a rescue dog, they find their forever home.
Somehow after 5 new ones I still have my 2013 458 spider.
I am really curious, how many people out there are still the original owner of their 458/488?

Many want the next technologically best thing out there (me) and will trade up no matter what they may have said previously about how "I'm gonna keep this car forever" (Viper ACR, Ford GT, 458, 488, etc.)! Some (bless them) are more driven by aesthetics and historical significance and tend to hold. I've given up trying to rationalize my motivations ..... to myself.

My 2013 458 Spider now has ~48K miles, no plans to sell.
My 458 Speciale is a forever car.
My 991.2 MT GT3 is also a forever car.
I suspect my 812GTS will be a forever car.
Depending upon the GTS I am a little undecided about keeping my 812SF (right now—keeper).

Zero interest in anything hybrid or EV, barely could consider a turbo.

I still have my first F car, 2014 458 coupe which was ordered new, rosso with cuoio and have decided to keep as long as I can for sentimental reasons and the fact that it's NA. I subsequently bought a 488 spider had it for 2 years then sold it once the Pista was announced and now have a Pista spider which I love and will keep "forever". I've ordered many more models but no matter what I drive, I always come back to the 458. It's too intoxicating to sell.

If you have not seen "The Car Guys" (from England) with a 5 year review of their personal 458 Italia it is worth watching.

I still have my 488 after almost 6 years - both Pista and F8 were relatively close to replace it, but both were eventually dismissed. It's now likely I will keep the 488 (my first, and probably only, new Ferrari) forever.
This comment just to show there is space for other cars than 458 ;) - I never had a 458 and was never tempted by one.

Not the way I wanted it to end - I was lucky to have limped away!

    Good for you.
My post was to see just how many people - like you - bought their 458/488 (or really any model) new, and have just enjoyed it enough to keep it.
It was never a post about the 458 per se. I see all these 458s/488s for sale with multiple owners. I don't think I have ever seen a 2-3 year old or older car go up for sale with "1 owner" in the description.

I bought my 2014 458 Spider new and now have almost 20K miles. Not counting the wife's cars, I've bought 3 cars subsequently, all have 4 or 5 speed manual transmissions, 2 have carburetors and 1 has drum brakes. :D The 458 has all I need in modern technology for a fun car. The appreciation on the 3 classics has made up almost half the 458 depreciation!

Our Speciale was our first new Ferrari and hopefully never have to sell it. Most likely won’t sell TM PS and TM SF. Added a GTS which is so good. Planned to sell it early because we TM’d the SF and was working towards Comp, but couldn’t sell. Soon we will have all 3 812s! Bought SF90 too because couldn’t resist 1,000hp and loved the look plus was interested in the tech and how they would make it good. Absolutely love it and they did a brilliant job. Not very good at selling them unfortunately. Have sold F8, 488 Spider and Lusso but even that was hard!

None of our cars sit though. We use them all.

I’ve had my Speciale since new. Got it in late 2014. So, about to hit 7 years and I don’t see it leaving my garage anytime soon!
