I'm looking into a possible purchase of a 1985 308 QV. In my Original Ferrari V8 book (Bluemel) it states that all models produced beginning January 1984 used Zincrox-coated steel panels. He goes on to state that "...late-model 308 QVs...benefit from this treatment.". Is there a 3x8 VIN that marks the beginning for use of this material? Where I live, rust resistance is an absolute necessity. Otherwise the jungle eats the car... :(

Starting VIN will matter little because VIN #sequence has little to do with assembly sequence. There are 308s with VINs Hundreds of numbers higher than cars auctally built months later. By this I mean that there are 2V308 GTBis with VINs many numbers higher than GTB QVs. This situation is the norm durring 308 production.
