searched the threads and found nothing.my mondial qv has been running flawlessly of late.installed new fuel filter, injectors, plugs last year.all three crank sensors this year.went for a ride today and on a couple of occasions like stop at the store and come back out, start it up and it shuts off.even held key in start position and it would fire then stop.i do not beleive it to be electrical.it did after a few attempts stay running and ran great.like i said it did this a couple times but not always.any help is greatly appreciated

Is this only on hot starts? Does it stumble a little when it finally starts?

If it is only on hot starts the problem is most likely the thermo time switch. This controls the time the cold start valve is on. When it fails it usually allows too much fuel for a hot engine and causes a bit of flooding. Next time try about a quarter throttle to let a little more air in.

yes only on hot starts.i don't beleive it is flooding because you crank and it starts almost immediatly then quits.repeat the process and it again will start instantly and quit again.almost like it has enough fuel to fire but not to keep running.thanks

engine cut-out on start-up ... intermediately when hot ...? don`t we love our cars ;)

go the easy route first -

if you`re lucky, it could just be a sticky relay

    check

    a) if fuel related

    -fuel pump fuse /fuse holder

    check/change Relays:

    - Relay R: fuel inj. delivery pump starting relay, Bosch 0332204 101 (same as for headlamp lifting motor)

    - Relay S: fuel pump, Bosch 0332014 113 (same as for window motor)

    b) if electric related

    check/change relay:

    - Relay T: Ignition switch, Bosch 0332014 113 (same as for window motor)

    - ignition switch itself (less probable since it would/could also cut-out when cold)

If you really want to test it just pull the plug off of the cold start valve before you start it hot. Actually what you are saying is exactly what happens when the time switch goes bad. Engine starts then sucks in the extra fuel then dies. The switch is time based depending on ambient temp so when you do it again it has already timed out.

If you do need one it's available through import auto parts stores a lot cheeper.

It is a standard Bosch part and should cost less than $100
