To my fellow ferrari owners, have a quick question regarding start-up and warning lights on Cali t. When I turn the key to start position the car does a systems check and the manual says that when it's over should indicate "check ok" on TFT display. Just noticed on my Cali t two red warning lights stay on before I start the car. These warnings are battery and oil which are lights located directly above speedometer. Once I actually start the car (push the red start button) both of these lights immediately go off and the TFT display shows no further warnings and the car seems to start and drive normally. Anyone else experience this on their Cali t or have any thoughts why this is happening or whether I need to have ferrari take a look at it?

    Thx to all!

The red lights indicate the battery is discharging and that there is no oil pressure, both normal when the engine is not yet running. Once the engine is running, the alternator is charging and there is (should be) oil pressure, so the lights go out. No need to worry.

So why would manual indicate that all lights should go off and "check ok" displayed if this is never the case by definition?

The manual would be in error. Treat your Cali as if it were any normal car. Turn the key on, wait maybe 2 seconds then start it. I immediately put mine in reverse or first and drive away, even before the lights are out. The only caution would be turning it barely on then off then on by hesitating with the key. This might confuse the computers and if they get confused you will know as a bazillion warnings will come up on the displays. If that ever happens to you just turn the key off. Open and close the door to turn off the computers. Then start as normal, all will be well.

The only thing I have babied over the last four Ferraris is to wait for the temperature to come up to normal before I take the RPM over 3,500 or so, and not to get on it hard until then either.

If you talk to your dealer you will find you've won the prize by spotting the deliberate error in the manual - the prize is not for spotting the error but being the first person to pretend to have read the manual as it is well known (and repeatedly proven here) that real men don't !

Never read manual before but 1st f-car so I thought since I'm investing $300k in a machine that it would be good idea to understand something about how it's supposed to work!
