http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090924/lf_nm_life/us_fallingwater "In the coming months, curators of the house built amid a waterfall in the leafy Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania will offer a new program, Insight Onsite at Fallingwater, where visitors will spend one full day and two evenings at the residence, enjoying the house as it was intended." I'd be game!
I almost want to organize a group of people and go. Or hell, go by myself and really enjoy the solitude.
Close enough and priviledged access though. Since I can't afford to buy any of his LA area houses, this is good enough for me.
That's too cool. I took the tour a few years ago but it was over way too quickly! I would love to be able to sit on the platform with a drink and watch the water pass by.
I wanted to be an architect because of FLW. My favorite finished project has always been Falling Water in PA. Thank you for this information, I hope to make use of it soon.
I've made the pilgrimage many times. This is a very nice development, however. I have always tried to do the "architect's tour" which is typically the first tour of the day, is limited to 9 or so people and lasts longer than the usual tour. Also, if you're going to go thru the trouble of going to Fallingwater, then you should also visit another FLW house only about 15 miles away called "Kentuck Knob." It was a Usonian House that got put on steriods.
I am in! Will look at this a.s.a.p. I wanted to be an architect in seventh grade after hearing about Frank Lloyd Wright and Falling Waters. I have personally seen many of his sites. I also would love to relax on the deck and hear the water for several hours. This is cool! Darryl
