Wifey and I are going up to Steamboat tomorrow from Boulder for the day to try out a new toy (dare I say it--a 2008 C-6 Vette) and I'd like to end the day by having a nice place to go for dinner. Can any of you, familiar with the area, recommend a good Italian or Mediterranean restaurant? The route I have in mind is to go up the Poudre and Walden on back roads. The return trip, since it'll likely be late in the evening, will be on I-70 when traffic is lighter.
Any and all suggestions are duly appreciated. I also promise to report back.
Oh, and is parking going to be much of a problem?

There is a little pizza/italian place on the Lincoln Ave in Steamboat. Nothing fancy or special but its pretty good. Not to sure what they have as far as italian but the pizza was good.

I was in Steamboat around the first of July for my honeymoon. We were surprised that the city seemed to shut down at about 7pm. Went for a steak dinner at 9 and they had just closed. :( Beautiful town, though. Go see Fish Creek Falls for sure! Short drive (5 min) from the city, and about another 5 min "hike" to the falls.

I know the place Matt550 is talking about and it looked nice. Didn't get a chance to go there, though. Parking wasn't much of an issue for us unless you are right downtown.

I just realized you posted this yesterday, so you've probably already had your dinner. :p

    Hope it went well!

Thanks guys. We ate at The Yatch Club, by the river, on a sunny afternoon. Very pleasant even if the food was just Ok. The waitstaff and the setting were great. Don't know that we'll be returning to Steamboat anytime soon on I-70. It took us, by my watch, five and one half hours to make the return trip. Basically it was one lane from Silverthorne to Idaho Springs--paving, accidents, tow trucks, and much too much traffic for this road. All this irritation on a fairweather Wednesday evening, sheeeesh!

Can you explain your route a little? I need to drive to Steamboat from Boulder Thursday for Rally America. Thanks.
