Listening to "When Josey Comes Home" on XM right now. What awesome musicians. Their harmonies are almost unparalleled IMO.

I LOVE Steely Dan. Recently got all of their albums. They have so many good ones I can't really pick any favorites.

Is there anyone between 45 and 50 that doesn't have 'Aja' ??

We were discussing how crappy today's home stereo systems are, you should see how much 70's receivers and the like are going for on EBay, Marantz, Sansui, Kenwood, Yamaha, Pioneer, Technics, Harmon-Kardon, Tandberg, B&O, it's thru the roof.
Glad I never got rid of my stuff, even though the wife keeps whining about the
    lack of a remote....

Steely Dan is on my top 5 list. Fleetwood Mac is too and the old 70's Chicago, not their 1984 makeover version.

Ditto, great musician. If I am correct, was Steely Dan a dildo?

I'm starting to think this is old home day for me. All these great late 60's to mid 70's bands that made terrific music.

Gotta agree with all the choices. I prefer Early Chicago (Transit Authority) and Early Doobies (Jeff Baxter days) over their later smooth jazz channel stuff.

My oldest son loves this stuff too, with the notable exception of Steely Dan. I swear guys, I did the best I could, but there's just no getting him to listen to Becker and ***an.

some of my favorites pictured below.

Interesting that most of these bands, in some form or another, still perform and/or record to this day. Oh, did I mention I saw all of them except Steely Dan (Who didn't tour in the 70's) during the pinnacles of their careers?

FM - The part in the middle where Wayne Shorter plays the sax - Whooaaa! Still sends shivers down the spine!

I would have to say that Mike McDonald is my favorite vocalist of all time.

I just bought a Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits CD that I have been listening to for about 2 weeks....fantastic stuff. I can't think of too many bands that have 3 very distinct sounding singers who give their songs very different sounds.

We had this discussion on another thread a few months ago, I think I named off a few albums and questioned who had them ?
Aja, Rumours, Boston's debut album, Dark Side of the Moon, Hotel California, Fly like an Eagle, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, etc.

Steve Miller's Greatest hits is another disc that I almost always have in my CD changer...love it! Dark side of the Moon is dull driving music, but at home on Saturday night in the overstuffed recliner with my BV & Diet in my paw & my Hugh Hefner smoking jacket on (see Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 3)....ya baby!

Was listening to Aja this past weekend on a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Linville, NC. Has to be one of the best albums ever.

Two against Nature is really good. I had it in the CD changer (listened to twice daily) for about 6 months.

When I go to the CD store I hit the sale bin. I can get some good stuff sometimes. I picked up The Guess Who and Todd Rundgren's greatest hits and for $6.99 each.
