    Thanks Davehanda.

Thats exactly what i need. The spacer brings the steering 25mm or an inch closer. While it "sounds" minimal, does anyone have experience that it translates to "plenty" in practice ?

I imagine that after fitting it one could afford to drop the steering a smidge further tilting it towards the driver. Perhaps the gain could be a worthwhile inch and a half odd doing it this way at the top of the wheel ?

Jaturon. The wheel goes up and down only but in doing so it arcs a bit, tilting the top away from the driver as it goes up and top closer to the driver as it goes down.

I bought and fitted the spacer in 10 minutes. It makes the world of difference. The car is in my hands now and i can toss it about with confidence. I can adjust the seat so my head fits without touching and my knees are off the dash. I can turn corners in 4th and my hand will pass between the wheel and my leg.

Nice 18" wheels, tubi and steering wheel spacer over the last few months. It's all coming together very nicely now. I will keep this car now for another 10 years.

    wrxmike,

Do you have details of the UJ centrepiece? I need to replace the lower UJ on my 3.2 Mondi but I see it's around AU$500!! Are the brgs + cross-piece a standard unit available from brg suppliers?
