    My last 2 annual inspections have noted some play in both steering rack inner joints. Has anyone on here been through this issue and how what it resolved please?

    Yes, just buy a pair for a 2000 Saab 9-3 or 9-5. Made by Sachs and fits well. I have commented woth pictures in the 456/550/575 cross reference thread. And do a four wheel alignment afterwards to have it perfectly adjusted. I did this on my 550. :) Cost a fraction of the same part from Ferrari.
