Hi Guys, Last year I had to change over a steering arm, and in the process discovered the arm boot had a fair bit of fluid in it, which at the time I cleaned out and put back on the new arm. Fast forward to last weekend and taking a look in the arm boot and there is some fluid again, so before the good weather arrives I’m biting the bullet and am going to get the rack rebuilt. Had a search but couldn’t find much info. Has anyone got any top tips for rack removal?
I haven't done a rack on a 360. All I can say is if it is anything like the 355, you are in for a very long weekend. Let's hope not.
I had my rack replaced a couple years ago at FOS, and I kept the old one. If you find a place to rebuild, please post it, I'd like to rebuild my old one if possible. Sent from my SM-S906U1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’m in the uk and there’s a couple of places here that will do them, that even the main franchised dealers send work to. Going to let the place that I bought my car from handle the organisation around the refurb.
Interesting.. it’s dry January as well, so no beer to have regular de-stress breaks I’ll try and take some pics to document the process.
Western Power Steering in the UK does great work. They arrange for shipping. $490.00 to rebuild a 360 steering rack. https://shop.westernpowersteering.co.uk/category-263/fer360.html
Here you go. It looks like the job is a bit easier than the 355, but ... not by very much 360 Steering Rack Removal (clubscuderia.co.uk)
I don't know if you can remove the end rods with the rack inside the car. Certainly would not be easy.
Yep. Pretty straight forward, have done that before. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/cured-hysol-removal.660758/page-2
