Just wondering, is it possible to swap the steering rack between a 355 and 348 to in effect, get no power steering?

I am just thinking out loud.

In reading period articles (from 1994/1995) they claimed that power steering was "optional" for the newly released 355B. Whether that was actually the case or not, I don't know...maybe in Europe? Or maybe never happened...

Hi, LHD manual rack for 355 is PN# 157544. Picture attached.

The 348 PN# is 155566, but that's not to say it wouldn't fit.

If there's a manual rack for the 355 wouldn't that answer the question?? Why try to cross parts if there is an original avaialble for what you want?
