Supposed to be picking it up next week but still have to fix the intake grill covers. I'm talking about the red plastic slits that cover the intake/output on both sides. They are some sort of plastic material that has faded over the last 19 yrs. They look, well, faded, with splotches all over. Kinda like armor all was splotched on them throughout. It makes you think it's wet or something and you go to wipe them but nothing.

Does it sound like painting them is my best option (rosso corsa) and have you heard of anybody doing this before.

I'm open to anything. Naturally the car has taken longer than anticipated but that's allright. His birthday is in early October so that'll make the surprise all the better.

    Thanks for any help!

My intake strakes ('83 Mondial, Grigio) are painted. Are you sure yours are plastic cast in a Rossa Corsa color? In either case, i would think painting them would be your best bet if they're blotchy...
