    She works like a charm!

I did add two pair of brake pads to my Ricambi "Wish List."

I'll post pictures of her tomorrow on the drive, sans chocks ;)

Alright another brother from a different mother...:)

You have Hill engineering pedals and shifter I see- nice, does it come with upgraded exhaust? And are you planning on changing the rims? Lot's of cool one to choose from.

I too am curious on those two hoses let us know.

Me and you are like twins..:D You can be DeVito...:p

The exhaust is stock. I am currently looking at different exhaust applications. I'd also like to switch over to the Hyper-Flow test pipes. Here in Mississippi (see Tupelo for a reference), we don't have emissions testing and the cops aren't gonna bust me for noise... Not with all those loud-ass trucks runnin' around out there.

PS - Subscribed to a Silver membership yesterday. Still waiting on the thing to process in order to gain privilege :)

    I did :) Just a mistype with the 10W-40.

The pipes are just plumbing for the "Air Injection" system. Follow the link for a few pics that show it far better.

It would appear that your Spider has an electrically operated air pump that forces air through the pipes, rather than just attaching the hoses to the air cleaner housing - interesting, I have never heard of that, and looking at pictures of Spider engines in road test articles, they all appear to have the "normal" system, not an air pump. No big deal, it just looked different.

When you think about it, the parking brake shoes should last forever without any wear unless the car is driven with the handbrake engaged. On my car, the shoes were badly worn and the "drums" inside the disc had deep grooves, but the actual disc surfaces were fine. A previous owner must have been attempting "handbrake turns" or something.

That's mostly true. There should be a light amount of constant friction between the shoes and the drum... If they're properly calibrated, that is. Then there's the common mistake of driving with the handbrake on (not mine).

I too am curious about the air injection system. Looks weird and I wonder where it came from. It might make a good research project for someone in the Brotherhood. Welcome to the clan, doc. I had a Spider looking pretty much like that one before I bought the SS. Loved mine. Give me a shout if I can help you on ownership experience.

Nice ride! You'll learn a lot tinkering with it. I did much the same thing after mine was delivered one cold and snowy November night a few years ago. I felt uneasy about driving it in the bad weather so I jacked it up and changed the oil, brake pads, tightened loose bolts, etc. It was a blast. You'll love the car.

Congrats on a great car. The spiders are awesome (despite my e-brake imploding twice now, must be the super-strong left arm I've got :D).

enjoy yours in good health, and may all your maintenance issues be minor and easily fixed!

About 230 miles, give or take a few. Just about 1 1/2 hours if you push it, and who wouldn't?! ;)
